Statistically speaking, men tend to be more likely to cheat in a relationship as compared to women. So, if you’re a woman in love and you’re in a relationship with a guy, you need to maintain a little sense of vigilance in your relationship. Yes, you eventually want grow your love to a point where you completely trust one another. But hey, people still make mistakes. And you want to make sure that you are safeguarding yourself from any bouts with infidelity. Because if you ask anyone who has been in an unfaithful relationship before, you would know just how terrible it really is to be cheated on.

There’s a certain kind of betrayal that comes with being cheated on in a relationship; and the emotional whirlwind that that betrayal brings is quite a heartbreaking experience. So, at the get go, you should make it a point to make sure that you aren’t getting into bed with someone who is only going to play you for a fool. But how do you do that exactly? How do you know if a guy is likely to cheat on you or not? Well, you can make yourself aware of certain traits and characteristics that cheaters may have.

1. They constantly need to be excited or thrilled by something.

Be very wary if your man has a flair for the dramatics and the thrills. If he’s constantly seeking excitement in life, you have to know that that isn’t necessarily a good thing. Part of being in a strong relationship is establishing stability. And if things start to get too stable for him; then he might be stirring up drama on his own.

2. They feel a sense of entitlement.

If you have a guy who has a sense of entitlement, then you really need to be careful. He’s someone who is going to feel like he has a right to do or say whatever he wants without having to worry about your thoughts on the matter. He thinks he’s going to get to get away with whatever he chooses to do inside and outside of your relationship.

3. They often act on impulse without thinking.

He’s a guy who is always acting impulsively. Sometimes, this has a great payoff. You have excitement and thrill in your relationship. However, when he just acts without thinking, that can be reckless a lot of the time. And a reckless man is going to make a lot of mistakes in his life – and in his relationships. He might end up cheating on you without even planning it.

4. They are egotistical narcissists.

An egotistical narcissist is always going to do whatever he wants to do regardless of how much his actions might hurt or impact other people. He thinks that the world revolves around him and that he should have to answer to no one. He likens himself to a deity in the sense that all of his actions are justified because he is the one doing them.

5. They don’t really handle commitment too well.

Whenever you tell them to show up for dinner at a certain time, they don’t always arrive early. Whenever you ask them to do a particular favor for you, they don’t always follow through. It’s a slippery slope; and it’s very dangerous to be dealing with someone you can’t really rely on when it comes to following through. You always want to be able to trust someone when they tell you that they’re going to do something.

6. They have a tendency to lie even about the little things.

If they’re lying to you about even the littlest things that wouldn’t even get them in trouble, what makes you think they won’t lie to you to make sure that they get away with the big stuff? A liar is likely to be a cheater because it’s impossible to cheat when you don’t lie about it.

7. They don’t care about how they come off to other people.

They are always going to be going about their lives without a care of how they are perceived. He is the kind of guy who just lives his life according to his own rules without really thinking about the welfare of the people around him – even those who are closest to him. He doesn’t care what kind of image he is portraying to everyone.

8. They get jealous whenever you have other men in your life.

He doesn’t deal well with the fact that you are around other men because he knows how he acts when he’s with other women. He knows that he misbehaves; and so he probably assumes that you’re also the same way whenever you are caught in the same kind of situation.

9. They come from broken families.

And lastly, studies have shown that men who come from broken families have higher chances of cheating on their significant others as opposed to men who come from healthy families.
